Once again the Bradley Bears have proven themselves worthy of the crown of Kings of the County. With decisive victories over both Walker Valley and Cleveland the Bears football team has dominated on the field. The Bears have been posting more than 30 points a game while keeping every opponent except for Walker Valley in single digits.
The Bears went into Benny Monroe Stadium undefeated facing an equally undefeated Blue Raiders. Both teams were ranked 4th in their respective classifications. That was a little distraction compared to having bragging rights in the county. The Bradley Bears had already defeated Walker Valley and McMinn County. The Bears had faced their first District opponent, Science Hill, and beat them soundly. Cleveland had stayed undefeated in their first three meetings defeating, District opponent in Soddy Daisy just the week before. Emotions were running high and there was a lot of pride on the line.
After a penalty ridden first quarter the only score was made by Cleveland by virtue of the penalty flag and a field goal. The score was 0-3 and the second quarter was pure Bradley Central. The offense opened up and scored two touchdowns leading up to the half. The Bears received the kick-off to begin the second half and wasted no time in scoring with their first procession of the third quarter. The only other score Cleveland had was by virtue of a safety while the Bears would score once more with another touchdown.
When it came to student sections, the Bear Nation was on top of their game with chants that quickly silenced the Blue Raider student section. The students were quick to point out things such as the score at opportune times. Congratulations to the Bear Nation for neutralizing the Blue Raider advantage of being on their home turf.
The Bears were victors of the game with a score of 34-5.
